OUR STORY - A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER.
In 2008, on a visit to the Hampton Court Flower Show in England, I was curious to see gardeners making their own herbal teas and applying these to nourish and strengthen the immunity of their plants.
I came back to my nursery in East London, South Africa inspired and began applying the same principles to my flowers, vegetables and herbs. The results were swift and amazing... busy bees, birds, and butterflies returned to populate my nursery garden and the plants thrived.
Intrigued, I began to apply the same principles to my own life by eating foods and herbs that cleansed and rebalanced my immune system. Long-standing migraines, an irritable bowel and a hormonal imbalance, that left me tired and moody, faded away over a 30 day period. With no conscious effort my weight dropped and my skin, hair and nails took on a healthy sheen. My energy levels picked up noticeably and this allowed me to engage more effectively in my demanding landscaping business activities.
Since then the benefits of eating whole foods, particularly wholegrains, has become a driving passion of mine. I have read, experimented and practised these simple principles extensively - so much so that friends and family started coming to me for advice on potentially avoiding medication for common everyday ailments by making dietary adjustments. This snowballed and I started group workshops and retreats, and producing carefully curated products. Uniting a healthy balanced diet with the right types of exercise, especially yoga, joins the magic dots to help form a picture of a better balance in life.
The results of helping people make small adjustments or additions to their current diet, especially by incorporating the little miracle wholegrains, is rewarding to them and exciting for me to see. Healing with Whole Foods really is that simple.
